I used to have ROCD spirals that would last weeks on end followed by short lived moments of peaceful thoughts around my relationship.
Instagram posts about relationships were my biggest triggers.
"If you feel x,y,z you're in the wrong relationship."
ughhhh the worst, right?! 🙄
Then came the "what if" thoughts followed by 12/10 levels of anxiety.
Followed by confessing and Google searches that only brought temporary relief.
This roller coaster was so exhausting to the point where I stopped enjoying life all together.
It felt like no matter what decision I made, it wasn’t the right one so I spent most of my time paralyzed by fear.
I thought I was going insane until I learned that what I was experiencing was actually relationship OCD- a subtype of OCD that focuses on your relationship.
I felt initial relief being able to name it, but as you probably know, awareness alone doesn’t heal.
So I set out on a journey to do just that.
Get to the root of where this was coming from & heal.
I used my 6 years of experience helping clients heal trauma/their nervous system and basically became my own client.
I made a ton of progress, but I still felt like something was missing.
Around that time, I had a radical encounter with Jesus and learned that the "thing missing" was Him.
The true Prince of Peace.
I decided to give my life to Him and watched Him heal the parts of me that I couldn't do on my own.
He delivered me from ROCD, depression, anxiety and codependency just to name a few.
After I recovered, God put it on my heart to help others do the same.
A huge part of recovery is having the tools to not only regulate your nervous system, but to invite the Lord into your healing process.
